Introducing Orland Park Chiropractor Dr. Laura Jendra

Overland Chiropractor, Dr. Laura JendraI have often been asked as to the reason why I chose to be a Chiropractor. It all started with a part-time job as a receptionist in a chiropractic office while completing my undergraduate studies. Not only was I an employee, I also became a patient. I had developed chronic neck pain from a car accident a few years prior. Soon after beginning care my neck pain was a distant memory, and my path to chiropractic began.

After receiving my Bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University, I went on to Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California. I have also obtained the distinction of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). CCSP is a specialized post-graduate program that required me to take extensive sports-injury specific continuing education, which culminated with an examination prior to being awarded the CCSP certification.

I currently serve as the chiropractor for the Chicago Fury Hockey Club (www.chicagofury.com).

I am dedicated to forming long-term relationships with my patients. I believe the chiropractic office should offer a relaxing environment where a patient can get away from the stresses of daily living and be treated in an atmosphere of relaxation and genuine care. It is very important to me that all patients feel comfortable and confident in my office.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Bryan, and have two great stepsons, Brett and Kyle. They are both highly competitive ice hockey players, which my husband and I enjoy traveling around the U.S. and Canada to watch them play. When I am not in the ice rink I try to get a round of golf in from time to time!

We also hold free monthly Weight Loss/Detoxification Workshops. Call our office to find out when the next workshop will be held.

Dr. Laura Asks some important questions of interest to Orland Park residents - Chiropractor Orland Park Dr. Laura Asks...

What happens if you stop chiropractic care when you feel better?
Many Orland Park folks recognize that this predisposes you to a relapse. Chiropractors know that muscles and ligaments supporting the spine don't fully heal until after symptoms subside.
How does headache medication find the headache?
It can't! Chiropractors know that when you ingest a drug and it enters your bloodstream it numbs or deadens your entire body. Chiropractic adjustments, on the other hand, are specific, targeted and delivered with precision.
